Dedicated to the memory of Peter Lambourne
Born in Reading to Betty and Robert Lambourne on 2nd March 1936 Peter was the eldest of 2 boys. He was very involved in the scouts and was awarded the Queens Scout award. He was posted in York for National Service where he met his future wife Rita Smith, they married on 20th July 1957 and moved to live in Reading.
They had 5 children and stayed in Reading where Peter worked as a building surveyor until he set up his own business. They then moved to South Wales in 1987 and to York in 2000. Peter had been unwell for a while but managed to care for Rita after her stroke.
On 5th July 2019 Peter passed away peacefully after a short stay at York Hospital.

Dad, the day you passed away left a massive hole in my heart. I didn't realise just how much I loved you til you left on your journey to the stars. Your never ending devotion to Mum, your children and grandchildren is a true statement of the man you were. Every time I write a list I'll smile as I will remember you. Love you and miss you so very much. Nigel & John.
